Hiking at the Møns Klint cliffs

The Møns Klint cliffs offer several hiking trails suitable for all levels. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned hiker, the spectacular views of the Baltic Sea and limestone formations are magnificent.

These cliffs, rising majestically over 120 metres above the sparkling waters of the Baltic Sea, fascinate with their dazzling whiteness and unique chalk composition, a remnant of a time when this region was covered by oceans.

  • Hike to the beach: from the Geocenter, a wooden staircase of almost 500 steps leads you gradually to the foot of the white cliffs.
👉 Before descending, check the tides. We were there at high tide, so we had to finish the descent in seaweed-covered water. Walking along the shoreline gives you a close-up view of the chalk that makes up the cliffs, geological layers that date back millions of years.
  • Hiking from the heights : again from the Geocenter, a pathway overhangs the cliffs, with vantage points where you can stop to admire the view and panorama of the Baltic Sea. The white cliffs plunge steeply into the blue waters, creating a view as peaceful as it is breathtaking.
  • 🌿 Our recommendation: the Møns Klint Gråryg Fald hike is a 2.5-kilometer trail offering spectacular views of the iconic white cliffs of Møns Klint. The trail crosses the forest before skirting the cliffs, with impressive views of the Baltic Sea. Although relatively short, the steep terrain and steep climbs make this a demanding route.
