Copenhagen-Kastrup airport is the only airport in Copenhagen. It’s quick and easy to get to the heart of the city. In around 15 to 20 minutes, you can be in the center of Copenhagen, whether by metro, train or cab.

Where is Copenhagen airport?

Copenhagen airport (Copenhagen-Kastrup) on the island of Amager, south of the city, just a few kilometers from the center of Copenhagen.

Metro: the best option

One of the best solutions for a quick transfer from Copenhagen airport is to take the metro.

Schedule and frequency

  • Line M2 (yellow line)
  • 15-20 minutes to city center
  • Automatic line operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • The main stations served are Nørreport, Kongens Nytorv, and Christianshavn, all strategically located near tourist attractions and accommodation areas.

🌟 This is a real plus, especially if you arrive late at night or very early in the morning. During rush hour, trains pass every 4 to 6 minutes, and even outside these times, you won’t have to wait more than 15 minutes to see one.

How and where to buy your ticket

  • Tickets can be purchased at the automatic machines located at the terminal exit. Tickets cost around DKK 30 (approx. €4).
  • Or opt for the Copenhagen Card, Copenhagen’s city pass if you’re planning to visit several sights, as it includes all public transport journeys and is activated directly online on the app.

We strongly recommend that you purchase the CityPass before your arrival to simplify your stay in Copenhagen.
