Organizing your visit

The Home of Carlsberg is an immersive experience that plunges you into the world of the Carlsberg brewery, from its humble beginnings to its current status as a global beer giant.

🐘 Before you begin your visit, take time to admire the monumental gateway to the old brewery, supported by four imposing elephants. This emblematic gate is one of Carlsberg’s most recognizable symbols.

  • 📜 Interactive exhibition: The tour begins with a presentation of the history of J.C. Jacobsen, the visionary founder, and his son Carl, who greatly contributed to the company’s expansion.
  • 💻 Immersive and intuitive experience: digital animations are available throughout the visit to learn more about the brewing process.
  • 🍺 Historic bottle collection: several showcases display an impressive beer collection, tracing the evolution of Carlsberg product design and marketing over the decades.
  • 🏛️ Architectural heritage: discover the old copper vats, emblematic of the traditional brewing process, and the famous Elephant Gate, adorned with impressive sculptures symbolizing Carlsberg’s strength and resilience.
  • 🐎 The stables housing the brewery’s majestic horses, another emblematic tradition that links Carlsberg to its rich past.
  • 🍻 Tasting : at the end of your visit, you’ll be invited to taste a Carlsberg beer.

🖼️ Another interesting aspect of the museum is the close link between the brewery and art. The collection of statues and works of art scattered throughout the complex testifies to the ambition of J.C. Jacobsen, whose vision went far beyond beer production.

👉 Carl Jacobsen, son of the founder of the Carlsberg brewery, was a passionate art lover and generous patron. He devoted much of his life to building up a collection of varied works. His ambition to create a space where ancient and modern art could meet was realized in 1897 with the founding of the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek.
